New Brunswick is a Canadian province located in the northeast of the country. It is bordered by Quebec to the west, Nova Scotia to the southeast, P.E.I. to the south and east, and the U.S. states of Maine and New Hampshire on its north and northwest respectively. It has an area of 111,797 km² (43,821 sq mi) and a population of 752,852 as of 2011. The capital is Fredericton while Saint John is designated as the "civic capital" for historical reasons. Saint John is the most populous city in New Brunswick with a population of 70,224 people as of 2011.


1. New Brunswick’s location in North America and its proximity to the states of Maine, Vermont, and Quebec makes it a popular destination for Americans looking to explore Atlantic Canada.

2. The Bay of Fundy has the second-highest tidal range in the world – up to 16 meters (52 feet) between high and low tide! It also experiences some of the highest tides anywhere; as much as 10 m (35 feet or almost twice as high as an average human).

3. The Saint John River Valley has more golf courses per capita than anywhere else in Canada. Two of these courses (one 18 hole and one 9-hole course) are famous for being the world’s only golf courses where you can play both around and an afternoon game of tennis in under two hours!
